Michael Glen: Grace Exhibition
Th., 26.07.2012 20:00-??:?? POT Kurt-Schumacher-Str. 27 34117 Kassel
This installation uses arduino and electronic systems to create an environment for the audience to inadvertently trigger a cascading failure event by operating similar methods used in a building security system, however in this case the system is inverted to create a sense of insecurity whereby the audience may be both the cause and victim of a system collapse.
Zoran Pavelic: Der Zug nach Kassel, Four lighters 4
We., 25.07.2012 20:00-??:?? (Opening)
Talk 28.07.2012 21:00
For the project “Der Zug nach Kassel – Kurator/Privatkollektion”, the artist took the role of the private art collector and the curator of the collection Kurator/Privatkollektion.
The collection Kurator/Privatkollektion resulted from the authors’ artistic life and work. The collection consists of various artifacts that Zoran Pavelić collects since 1995. They are always related to the Croatian contemporary art scene, Croatian artists, curators or art critics. All the works from the collection function as the references to the personalities, events or occurrences in art life in Croatia. In the collection there are the objects and art works that are given to author as a gift and there are also the objects that are found, or ready-made objects, author’s drawings, paintings, photographs and photo-interventions, arts objects – but always related to the artists, curator’s or critic’s life and work. In this sense the works from the collection function also as ‘links’ to the oeuvres of chosen personalities.
The collection very much depends on artist’s authorship and there is always an open possibility of an artistic intervention on the collections objects.
Marguerite van Sandick: monochrome poster
Sa., 21.07.2012 20:00-??:??
A series of 7 monochrome posters are spread throughout the city of Kas- sel. This sequence forms a musical score of a yet unperformed concert. The outcome of the piece is directly based on the immanent logic of the colors themselves, that all represent a relative position on the line of pres- entation, traveling between the extremes of absence (black) and presence (green).
